INTRODUCTION
The link between a changing magnetic field and the formation of an electric field and voltage is described by Faraday’s law of electromagnetic induction.Simply said, it describes how an electric current generates a magnetic field and how a changing magnetic field generates an electric current.
Michael Faraday, an English physicist, uncovered this essential concept in 1831.This law has a wide range of applications, including power production, motors, transformers, generators, induction sealing, induction welding, and so on.Faraday’s laws were eventually integrated into Maxwell’s equations.
FARADAY’S BASICS
Faraday’s law of electromagnetic induction is one of the important concepts of electricity.
How magnetic field will interact with an electric field.
When magnetic field changes, it causes a voltage(and hence current).
FARADAY’S LAWS OF ELECTROMAGNETIC INDUCTION
There are two laws . First law is about the induction of emf in a coil.Second law is about the quantity of emf produced in a coil.
Whenever a conductor is placed in a varying magnetic field an EMF gets induced across the conductor (called as induced emf) and if the conductor is a closed circuit then induced current flows through it.
Magnetic field can be varied by various methods,so the magnetic flux linked with a loop of coil can be changed and induced emf can be produced.
1. Moving magnet towards the coil.
2. Moving the coil towards the magnet.
3. Rotating the coil relative to the magnetic field.
4. Rotating the magnet with respect to the coil
FARADAY’S FIRST LAW
First law is about induction of emf in a coil.
Whenever the magnetic flux linked with a closed circuit changes, an emf is induced in it ,which lasts only so long as the change in flux is taking place.
FARADAY’S SECOND LAW:
Second law is about the quantity of emf produced in the coil.
Faraday’s second law of electromagnetic induction states that the magnitude of induced emf is equal to the rate of change of magnetic flux linked with the coil.
SIGNIFICANCE OF NEGATIVE SIGN
The significance of negative sign is that emf induced in the coil acts to oppose any change in the magnetic flux.
For example, if the magnetic flux linked with a closed circuit increases, the induced current flows in such a direction,so as to create a magnetic flux in the opposite direction of the original magnetic flux.
MATHEMATICAL FORM OF ELECTROMAGNETIC INDUCTION:
CONCLUSION
Electromagnetic induction breaks the misinterpretation of the different electric and magnetic fields and shows that both the fields are identified with each other. It shows that a period changing electric field can go about as hotpots for magnetic field and a period fluctuating magnetic field can go about as wellspring of electric field.Electromagnetic induction peculiarity was depicted by Maxwell in numerical structure.
